Frequently Asked Questions

The following are a few of the most frequently asked questions.

Q: Do you have an online support group?

A: Yes. Our group for confidential chat so that we can “be ourselves” without judgment is Voices Of Life – St. Louis – Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic, & Autoimmune.

You will see posts from the group as you scroll through Facebook but your friends and family will not see posts or comments from within this group.

Our mission is to inspire individuals to #SpeakLife into the tough situations we face as autoimmune, chronic, and terminal patients and we do this in a family-styled support system.

It will be our pleasure to meet you!

Q: Where can I find more information about your events?

A: Our events can be found in two places. The first is on our Voices of Life – Events  link within this site where you will find our Facebook events are auto-populated.

The second is on our Facebook page Voices of Life Events. Please RSVP and invite your family and friends. All are welcome!

A: No. We are a family-styled support group. While we do have a number of physicians, nurses, and professionals as volunteers, the guidance they provide is educational in nature and does not replace the medical direction given by your physicians and their staff. If you have a true medical emergency, please immediately dial 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Q: Do you have a food bank?

A: While we have plans for one, we do not have a location for a food bank at this time. Currently, our members volunteer at and gather resources for food banks in the core regional areas of our local members.

Q: Is Voices of Life a 501(c)(3)?

A: Not yet but it is in the works! We are a relatively new organization and are working diligently towards completing the requirements for our federal nonprofit status as a 501(c)(3).

A 501(c)(3) public charity is an entity that: (1) has been organized under state law, (2) is operated for a 501(c)(3) purpose, (3) benefits an unidentified charitable class of people (e.g., those who suffer from AIDS), (4) engages in activities that are non-political in nature, and (5) derives at least one-third of its support from the general public. A 501(c)(3) purpose includes–but is not limited to–educational, religious, scientific, medical and charitable endeavors.
